Involvement with a committee is the best way to get the most out of your SMPS membership while becoming acquainted with other members. Committee participation is the perfect opportunity to promote your firm, gain leadership skills, and advance in your career. In addition, it’s fun and rewarding! Please contact our directors below to get involved! | |
Communications This committee is charged with maintaining the website, keeping event and job posts up-to-date and perform other edits as needed. Its members assist with collateral, web, and social media graphics, including event presentations and handouts. They also collaborate with the PR Committee on social and blog posts. | Diversity and Inclusion This committee serves in an advisory capacity to the board of directors to assure that Chapter events, outreach, communications, and organizational practices promote diversity and inclusion. The committee also seeks opportunities for partnership with other professional organizations when appropriate. |
Education The Certified Professional Services Marketer program is a national initiative that is promoted at the chapter level. Assist in the effort to get more Philadelphia members certified by developing training courses and conveying the benefits of certification. | Membership Membership recruitment and retention is a primary focus of SMPS at a national and chapter level. Philadelphia Chapter committee members are tasked with planning membership drives, special events, welcoming new members, and assisting the chairperson with registration. |
Mentorship Mentorship is about support, knowledge, and insight from those with shared experiences. The chapter recognizes that mentorship can have a powerful impact on a professional’s career. SMPS Philadelphia’s mentorship program provides members with one to four years in the industry an opportunity to pair with an experienced, long-term member of the chapter and A/E/C industry. | Programs This committee is responsible for organizing 20 programs each year. Its members are tasked with topic and content generation, program management and meeting logistics. They collaborate with program champions and various committees to market events and coordinate venue and presenter requirements, with the goal of meeting sponsor, speaker and audience expectations. |
Public Relations This committee is the conduit by which the chapter connects with the A/E/C community through social media, newsletter, and website blog. It actively shares news and event announcements with related industry organizations to increase networking and professional development opportunities. PR Committee members keep track of industry events, help cultivate relevant stories for our vibrant newsletter, and work closely with the Communications Committee on social and blog posts and associated graphics. | Sponsorship Our chapter relies on annual sponsors. This committee solicits sponsors for monthly programs and special events and manages these important relationships and each sponsoring firm's experience. The committee seeks members who wish to provide a vital need to the Chapter through sponsorship outreach or providing an exceptional experience through sponsor benefits while gaining experience in how to finance a large organization. |
