The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Philadelphia Chapter proud to announce that two of our members, Eileen Della Volle and Thomas Townes AIA, FSMPS, CPSM, have been selected as speakers for the upcoming the SMPS Northeast Regional Conference.
Eileen R. Della Volle, Vice President of Business Development, KS Engineers will speaking on “Politics of BD: How to Get Invited to the Big Table”. This session explores the politics as they relate to business development. Attendees will learn how to access and develop their political network to learn the ins and outs of the political game; the written and unwritten rules, and that legislation can get face time and help earn credibility.
Ms. Della Volle is a recognized leader in the A/E/C industry. She has 15 years of experience developing long-term client relationships, while expanding corporate presence and footprint in new markets. Eileen maintains a high-level network of business leaders, government officials, community engagement, diversity representatives and trade organizations. She is a skilled communicator enabling her to assess client needs and lead strategic planning efforts with clients, as well as internally. She has been the recipient of the New York City SMPS Chapter’s Marketing Achievement Award, NJ Biz Magazine’s Top 50 Women in Business and their 40 Under 40 Award. Additionally, Eileen is a Leadership New Jersey /Lead NJ Fellow.
Thomas Townes, Director, Business Development, Van Note-Harvey Associates, P.C. will be speaking on “Demystifying the Fellows Process”. This is a special Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) program and will explore the process of becoming a Fellow, including how to prepare the application, and answer any questions. A CPSM is recognized as an individual who has met a rigorous standard of experience and expertise in marketing professional services and has demonstrated their knowledge of the practice and related disciplines through a thorough examination of marketing competency. SMPS Fellows represent the highest level of experience and leadership in marketing and business development within the A/E/C industry.
Mr. Townes’ professional foundation is in architecture and his focus in the AEC market has been management and business development for the past 20 years. He understands client’s needs and is a strong advocate for client relationships, which is integral to Van Note-Harvey Associates’s company culture. He is active in numerous local organizations and actively participates on numerous committees in organizations such as the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce, NAIOP and SMPS both regionally and nationally.
