02-Jan-2012: The SMPS Philadelphia Chapter’s board of directors are pleased and excited to launch this new website at the start of the new year. We believe it bodes well for all of the successes yet to come before we hit the end of the 2011-2012 SMPS year on August 31.
Why a new website? Good question! The old one was certainly attractive and functional, but not quite up to Web 2.0 standards. To upgrade or start fresh was a topic of board discussions for the past year, culminating in what you see before you. After generating an RFQ to a long list of firms and then an RFP to three that made the shortlist, the selection committee unanimously chose Panoptic Communications to design the new site. We haven’t looked back since.
In a whirlwind collaborative process that has taken a mere 10 weeks from start to finish, www.smpsphiladelphia.org now has a great new look, feel and performance as an information and social media tool that invites member interaction. In addition it provides more comprehensive event listings and features a news section where members can submit interesting items about themselves and their firms.
