SMPS Philadelphia is proud to announce the naming of an annual scholarship in honor of Kelly McGann, CPSM, a cherished member who passed away untimely in October 2017 after a brave second-round battle with breast cancer. Shortly after joining SMPS, Kelly got involved at the chapter level and became a Philadelphia Chapter Board Member. She was the first chair of the new Certification Committee, which she helped form. The committee’s purpose is to encourage and support Philadelphia chapter members in their quest to obtain a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation. Kelly was steadfast in her dedication to arming marketers with the tools necessary to advance their careers and garner respect from employers as AEC industry professionals. She saw certification as a clear path to achieving this goal and was instrumental in developing the successful three-part CPSM Bootcamp program.
The scholarship, heretofore named the “Kelly McGann Path to Certification Scholarship,” will be awarded annually to one eligible SMPS Chapter member who is committed to becoming certified. Valued at approximately $800, the scholarship consists of the Boot Camp fee, exam application fee*, online exam fee, and SMPS suggested reading materials
Scholarship Selection Criteria: The recipient must meet all eligibility requirements and submission requests. Priority will be given to applicants based on their length of membership, level of activity and involvement within the chapter, and plans for continued growth and involvement with SMPS and in promoting the CPSM program. Selection will be made by the current Chapter Board, a representative from the Chapter Past Presidents, and the Chapter Champion at the time of judging. Current board members who wish to apply must excuse themselves from the vote.
*The exam fee reimbursement will be contingent on passing the exam.
