Museum of the American Revolution Tour and Networking at City Tavern – September 6, 2017
4:00PM – 6:30PM
Come celebrate with your fellow colleagues and friends as we kick off the 2017-2018 Program Year.
Join SMPS and members of the engineering project teams at 4:00pm for a one-hour self-guided tour of the Museum of the American Revolution. Project Managers from four firms will be on-hand to answer questions about the building’s design during the tour and will speak at City Tavern about their roles in this iconic project. Presenters will include:
Philadelphia was central to America’s journey to independence and the city’s newest museum, built in Gregorian style on National Park Service land, helps tell the history of the American Revolution with artifacts, engaging films, digital interactives, immersive galleries, and recreated historical scenes. Learn what led American Colonists to became Revolutionaries during the early days of rebellion.
Following the tour will be a networking hour with appetizers at the historic City Tavern, which had its own part in events during the Revolution, as the unofficial meeting place of delegates before and after sessions of the first Continental Congress.
