Future Development and Tour of The Philadelphia Navy Yard – March 23, 2016

Come join us for a tour of the Philadelphia Navy Yard led by representatives from PIDC – Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation. A cocktail reception will follow with a presentation about the future development of the campus. The Navy Yard is organized into seven districts relating to the mix of businesses, architectural styles, and development plans for each area. The guided walking tour route is approximately 2 miles long and moves primarily through the Historic Core and the Central Green. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

The Navy Yard is a 1,200-acre dynamic and urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally-located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation, announced that The Navy Yard experienced another tremendous year of growth in 2015, adding 12 new businesses and over 500 additional employees, bringing the total counts to 152 companies and 12,000 workers, occupying 7.5 million square feet of real estate in a mix of historic buildings and new high-performance and LEED® certified construction.
Building on the success up to date, the Master plan was updated in 2013 with an expanded vision of what’s to come. At full build-out, The Navy Yard will support up to 13.5 million square feet of development, 30,000 people, and over $3 billion in private investment.
