Event Recap – Museum of the American Revolution Tour and Networking at City Tavern
September 6, 2017
Nearly 100 people joined SMPS Philadelphia to kick off the 2017-2018 program year with a tour of the Museum of the American Revolution and Networking at City Tavern. The event began with a self-guided tour of the recently constructed Museum. The highlight was a viewing of General Washington’s original sleeping and office tent, which had been carefully preserved by generations of the Custis and Lee families following the deaths of George and Martha Washington. Next the crowd walked and talked their way to City Tavern for networking and historic cocktails. Chrissy Ferrazzano (Chapter President) of Schnabel Engineering introduced the 2017-2018 SMPS Philadelphia chapter board members. Brief presentations were given by Alex Stadel of Keast & Hood, Brad Baer of Bluecadet, Tom Friese of Pennoni Associates and Kevin Smith of Robert A.M. Stern Architects, who offered great insight into their roles on the project. This program was just the start of a great year! Stay tuned.
