ProgramThe Philadelphia Zoo, America’s first Zoo is home to nearly 1,300 animals, many rare and endangered. Cheetahs, hippos, giraffes and much more make the Zoo Philadelphia’s leading family attraction welcoming over 1.2 million visitors a year. State-of-the-art animal exhibits and health-care facilities, award-winning education programs, exceptional guest services and scientific accomplishments make this historically significant venue one of the world’s most renowned cultural organizations.
The Zoo has made an important commitment to its future, as well as an investment in the improvement and revitalization of the surrounding Centennial and Parkside communities. Working with a number of city, state, and federal partners, the Zoo opened the Centennial District Intermodal Transportation Center in April 2013. The project, which features a four-story, 683-space parking garage, as well as significant functional and aesthetic improvements to traffic flow and pedestrian right of way, has made the areas surrounding the Zoo safer for both pedestrians and vehicles while improving traffic flow and parking.
Join us on Wednesday, September 11, at 11:00 as we tour the Intermodal Transportation Center. Join members of the design and construction team from Remington Group, TimHaahs, and Pennoni Associates as they share their firms’ roles in the successful completion of the project. Nina Bisbee, Vice President, Facilities at The Philadelphia Zoo, has also been invited to attend.
Immediately following the tour of the Intermodal Facility will be a lunch reception and networking event in the Rare Animals Conservation Center.
This program is eligible for 1.5 CPSM credits. AIA credits pending approval.
