Studies have shown that disengaged employees cost businesses around $500 billion a year, yet only 36% of American businesses see employee engagement as a top challenge. So why is employee engagement such a big deal? Or maybe we should be asking “why isn’t it a bigger deal?” With the influx of Millennials and Generation Z entering the workforce, more and more firm leaders are scratching their heads looking for ways to get them and keep their teams engaged. The idea of “a day’s work for a day’s pay” isn’t so simple anymore. Employees want and expect more than a paycheck from their employer. How does it decline? Even who is responsible for it! We will also discuss ideas and tools that you can take back to your firm and start taking steps to increase employee engagement in your teams, departments, and firms.
